Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI), the national’s largest consumer cooperative engaged The Bannett Group for retail construction of two REI store locations in the New Jersey. Both projects, each approximately 22,000 square feet, consisted of interior fit-out and exterior façade work for the national sports apparel and equipment retailer. REI stores, a manifestation of the retailer’s brand, are designed to highlight the unique goods and services of the sport & outdoor chain. The exterior features the brand’s distinctive wooden & steam beam design elements. The interior features open floor multi-level space designed to allow for the type of oversized equipment the retailer sells, as well as areas dedicated to on-site bicycle and winter sports repair shops.
