McKinsey & Company is publishing more construction industry white papers. Last July we blogged about a white paper by McKinsey published entitled, “Imaging Construction’s Digital Future.” The paper discussed the ripe opportunity for technology to disrupt the constructor industry. The firm just published another white paper just last month called, “Reinventing construction through a productivity revolution.” The new paper’s authors (Filipe Barbosa, Jonathan Woetzel, Jan Mischke, Maria Joao Ribeirinho, Mukund Sridhar, Matthew Parsons, Nick Bertram, and Stephanie Brown) argue that lagging construction productivity cost the global economy as much as $1.6 trillion per year.
The infographic below summarizes that opportunity and highlights several key areas that can significantly boost productivity. The paper also serves as a validation for The Bannett Group’s recent commitment to PROCORE‘s Construction Management software.
